All Day Decaf
This premuim, Sri Lankan Black Tea has been treated with a harmless process that uses liquid carbon dioxide to remove caffeine, without diminishing the flavour. Hand-blended to ensure that it reaches you in pristine condition and really delivers on taste.
While caffeine is certainly helpful in giving us an energy boost when we most need it, sometimes we need to reduce the amount of caffeine we consume for health reasons, such as during pregnancy, or if we are finding it difficult to sleep. Decaffeinated tea makes it possible to reduce our caffeine intake without abandoning black tea altogether.
How is black tea decaffeinated?
There are two main methods of decaffeinating tea. The first is to rinse the tea leaves in chemicals such as methylene chloride or ethyl acetate, solvents with other uses such as paint stripping and nail polish removal. This method is an targeted approach to decaffeinating tea, but it is not our first choice.
The second method, and this is Twist Tea’s choice, is to use carbon dioxide to remove the caffeine. This method leaves up to 95% of catechins and antioxidants in the leaves. This method is thought to be the safest and the method most likely to preserve flavour.

For a healthy iced tea, serve cold with slices of fresh orange and sugar to taste.
Brewing Instructions
Infuse in boiling water for 3-5 minutes depending on desired strength. Serve with or without milk..

Tasting Notes
In many cases reducing the caffeine content of tea also reduces the flavour. The carbon dioxide method retains much of the flavour and antioxidants of the tea. Further, as we have chosen a strong tea (Ceylon) to start with, our whole-leaf, organic All Day Decaf really does deliver on taste. A full-bodied tea, All Day Decaf is delicious with or without milk and, with its reduced caffeine content, can be enjoyed at any time of the day.
